The last of our cats, Butch was put to sleep on Thursday afternoon. His chest was almost completely filled with cancer. Although he showed no outward signs of distress, unlike his siblings Hobbes and Susie, I had no choice. His breathing had becomed labored and his little pin legs were swelling up with edema due to the pressure the tumor was placing on his heart. It broke my heart… I hope they forgive me and welcome me when I get there, wherever that is.
