Mike’s General Rulebook
Oct 23rd
I have two General Rules (Not to be confused with the SPECIFIC Rulebook to be published at a later date):
1. Never tell anyone everything you know.

Serenity
Oct 22nd
The Boss and I went with Andy the other night to see ‘Serenity’ at the moving pictures place. What brought us to this point is a short story…
Back in 2002, a new series appeared on Fox. It was called ‘Firefly’ and was set in the distant future in a solar system nowhere near like ours. It was about a group of people that were on the losing end of a war and were casting about in an old Firefly-class freighter named ‘Serenity’ looking for odd jobs and generally staying under ‘The Alliance’s’ radar. They were crooks. I can dig that, being semi-anti-establishment myself, these days. The main thing that turned me off to the show (then) was the western twist to the show. Western as in COWBOY western. The Captain’s pistol looked like an old Colt six-shooter. They spoke with a cowboyish drawl and slang. “In a SCIENCE-FICTION show?”, I said. So I gave up on it very early in the season, and it seems like most everybody else did, too. The show was cancelled after only one season.
Fast forward to 2005, and Andy, like he usually does, bent me over and made me watch the DVD version of the one season. and you know what? I LOVED IT! I truly was disappointed the show never went to season two. So when Andy said there was a movie coming out, I. HAD. TO. GO.
And you should, too. Go see the movie. Wait, go get the DVD of the series, watch THAT first, THEN go see the movie. It’ll be the best entertainment money you’ll spend in the next few months. Simply a genius writer/creator in Joss Whedon. His vision is amazing. Come the DVD release, I, like Andrew, am gonna buy TWO DVD’s so Joss dies rich and smug.
I give it FIVE INARA’S! (Watch the series – you’ll find out what an ‘Inara’ is) ![]()

It is done. The switch is complete to the new web host. Email is now flowing in and all seems MUCH faster. Stay a while and look around, then let me know what you think.

It begins…

I’ve changed the nameservers for my domain today. We’ll find out REAL FAST if I’ve done everything correctly.
In the meantime, read on and let me know what you think!
Another tough loss
Oct 16th
The Dolphins went down in a tough game today. They were playing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which has the NFL’s top-ranked defense, and it showed. Going down 27-13 to the top-rated defense isn’t the whole story. They went down to a defense that had quite a few of their starters on the bench with injuries and didn’t capitalize on that fact. The Dolphin offense sucked. Ricky Williams started his first game this season and got EIGHT yards on five carries. 1.6 yards per carry. Pitiful. Our first-round draft pick, Ron Brown, managed just 9 carries for 22 yards (2.4 yards per carry). Also pitiful. The only thing stopping this teams rise to mediocrity is it’s offensive line. Offensive, it is.
They’d better figure something out quick, or the shine we had early in the season will dull fast. With all the truly talented people we have, nothing can happen if the O-line doesn’t open running or passing lanes. And our great defense can’t stay on the field all day.
Ah, well, there’s always next week, right?
It’s Been A LONG Day
Oct 16th
I sat up until 2am Friday night/Saturday morning working on the new web site. I got this software tweaked a bit, then moved on to the Photo Gallery. Saturday morning got the new version 2 gallery (G2) up and running and commenced to migrate all the albums from the original version 1 into it. Once that was done started tweaking G2 with the right look and feel. I blew it up more than a couple of times, but now I believe it’s stable. I’m going to drop back to this blog software and add a couple of links to the right sidebar, color it up and make it shiny.
Just like the old days – 12 hour days sitting in front of a monitor playing! Happy, happy, joy, joy.
The Grand Opening!

The Grand Opening is drawing closer. I’m REALLY thinking of using this specific software for my ‘Main’ page.
